It’s been over 5 years, but Mount Olive, New Jersey is coming back on the air. Thanks to a renewed franchise agreement with Cablevision, the township gained a Public, Educational and Governmental channel. Cablevision customers will be able to view the channel on 77 and Verizon FIOS cusomters will turn to 32.
The channel is run by the township out of the television studio located at Mount Olive High School. It provides a wonderful teaching opportunity for the local high school, which attracts over 100 students a year.
Unfortunately, there are no plans to air council or board meetings on a regular basis, but there will be specials aired on occasion.
With the new franchise agreement comes $7000 in grant money which is being used to purchase equipment
